FAQ's
On this page you will find some answers to the most
frequent questions:
Q. Can I use the program to update a historical file
with new data?
A. Yes, from version 1.4 and later. Earlier versions do
not have this feature, you need to yourself maintain a data
file in a format understood by the program or download a
historical file from the Internet. To maintain a data file
we suggest for instance Excel or similar program.
Q. I have problems with getting the data into the
program, some data seem to be read correct but some
not?
A. It is essential that the data is in the right format
according to your choice in the file format menu, and
that the date is in the right format as well. See the online
help for examples of date and data file formats
supported.
Q. The date is not shown properly on the x-axis but
the data seem to be correctly loaded?
A. You probably have an old version of ValiTrade, update
it and the problem should be fixed.
Q. I have a problem loading the greek stock data,
why?
A. The supplier of the greek stock data have changed the
format, update to a newer version of ValiTrade and the
problem should be fixed. Follow the data download
instructions concerning how to obtain the greek historical
data files and the program should be able to read the data
files.
Q. There is a problem to load data files from
Microsoft network financial site into the program?
A. You probably have your computer set to have a comma
(,) as the decimal character, change it to a point (.) in
"Regional Settings" ("Nationella inställningar") in the
folder "Control Panel" ("Kontrollpanelen") on your
computer.
