Instructions for downloading historical stock
data.
To obtain historical data for the program (version 1.4) you can either
manage your own data files or you can download data files through internet,
the program is designed to directly accept files from the sites shown
below.
There are several resources of historical data files
available:
Swedish stock files can be found
here.
Data obtained from this site need no special
instructions: When you have selected a stock and a graph
is shown you can find a link to the data file at the end
of the document. Click on link and save data in a
file.
S & P 500 files can be found here

In order to get data from this site to work properly a
special download procedure should be used:
1. Select stock of interest and time period,
then submit request.
2. Use your browsers "Select all" and then "copy"
feature.
3. Paste data into a word processor or
equivalent.
4. Save as a text file.
5. Open data file from ValiTrade with "Greek
stocks" selected in data file format menu.
US stock files from Microsoft network
(Internet Explorer only).
You need a plugin for Internet Explorer to obtain data
from this site (supplied free from Microsoft), this
plugin will transfer data to Excel. From Excel save data
as a text file and you are done.
US stock files from Yahoo.
Select a stock and save data in a file with a suitable name. Unfortunately
Yahoo have changed the data format. An upadte is on the way!
